Lori Gannon
Two Greene County women were recently sentenced following an investigation by the Greene County Sheriff’s Office about selling marijuana to minors.
According to court documents, 61-year-old Lori Gannon of Churdan and 29-year-old Megan Wright of Jefferson, both pled guilty to two Class B Felonies for distribution of a controlled substance to a person under 18 and two Class D Felonies for intent to deliver under 50 kilograms of marijuana. Both women had their maximum prison sentences of 60 years suspended and Wright was placed on probation for 2-5 years and Gannon for 3-5 years with the Iowa Department of Corrections.
The charges stemmed from an investigation that began on October 15th with the Greene County Sheriff’s Office about marijuana sales from a home in Churdan. Court documents show the Sheriff’s Office executed a search warrant on October 16th where drug-related items were seized from Gannon, along with her cell phone that showed several people, including juveniles, were buying marijuana from her. Gannon admitted that she bought her marijuana from Wright. The Sheriff’s Office then executed a search warrant at Wright’s home in Jefferson and recovered several more drug-related items and her cell phone revealed communication with juveniles who also purchased marijuana from Wright.
Both women were ordered to pay court costs and court-appointed attorney fees. As per the plea agreement, several other felonies and misdemeanors were dismissed for both Gannon and Wright.
