The Perry City Council met on Monday.
The Council approved a severance package for the four full-time Perry Police Department Dispatchers who will be laid off on June 30th. The package includes $5,000 for each dispatcher and an additional $1,000 for those employees that stay until the end of June. The Perry Police Department’s Dispatch Center was discontinued after the equipment was deemed old and not up to requirements. They will also be absorbed by the Dallas County Sheriff’s Office starting July 1st.
They also approved a consulting agreement with TrueNorth Companies to handle their general safety and loss control policies, three professional service agreements with Bolton & Menk for the Downtown Improvements Phase One for the cost not to exceed $618,700, Willis Avenue overlay from West 3rd Street to 17th Street for the cost not to exceed $124,000 and 2024 street repairs to not exceed $126,100. The Council also approved a position and job description for a Records Clerk and Assistant Records Clerk and readdressed the property at 1819 3rd Street within the City of Perry.
