Drought conditions in some parts of the Raccoon Valley Radio listening area have picked up as the calendar flips to the month of June.
According to the US Drought Monitor, the majority of Greene County is in a moderate drought with the northeastern portion considered to be abnormally dry. The northwestern corner of Guthrie County is in a moderate drought with the rest of the county abnormally dry and the entire county of Dallas is considered to be abnormally dry.
According to the National Weather Service, for the month of May, Perry has received 5.15-inches of precipitation, Jefferson has 3.79-inches of precipitation and Guthrie Center has seen 3.5-inches of precipitation.
