A reminder that tonight is going to be the 2nd Annual Pullin’ for Harley Truck Pull.

The event begins at 5pm with a wide open diesel performance and other truck pulls at the Greene County Fairgrounds in Jefferson. The fundraiser is in the memory of 15-year-old Harley McDonald who passed away last year after suffering third and fourth degree burns from a cabin fire on New Year’s Day. Harley was treated at the burn unit at University of Iowa Stead Family Children’s Hospital to the Pediatric Intensive Care Unit (PICU).

Nina McDonald is Harley’s mother and she says the family is raising money to re-name the PICU room he was in, which was also Harley’s motocross number, 314. She says their initial goal is to raise $100,000 to rename the room. Some of the funds will also go toward continuing education efforts for the doctors, surgeons, and nursing staff of the PICU and Burn Center. Online donations can be made by clicking the link below.
