A US Congressman has introduced legislation to give back to those who served.

Iowa’s Third Congressional District Representative Zach Nunn says he has announced a bill, with bipartisan support, that will assist America’s veterans with the “Veterans Jobs Opportunity Act.” Nunn explains that this legislation will support veteran-owned companies and incentivize business growth in rural communities. He tells Raccoon Valley Radio that service members are coming back home and starting a small business in rural communities at a high rate.

“I feel strongly that the best way for the third district to really not only welcome back our veterans, but also to grow some of the really dynamic main street businesses that we’ve seen across Iowa’s rural communities is to help these veterans get a start in their small business.”

He mentions under this legislation that veteran-owned businesses will receive a new start-up tax credit for expenses and it will allow for a tax credit up to 15% of start-up expenditures that do not exceed $50,000. The full bill can be read here.
