The ADM Tiger girls softball team was really fired up for their first home game of the season last night with a pretty good size crowd on hand to watch their ADM Tigers pick up a win in their home opener with a 10-0 shutout win over the Carroll Tigers. Freshman leadoff hitter Ellis Smith got on base on a fielding error by Carroll, then sophomore Madi James reached on a walk, and then freshman Lauren Hagedorn came to the plate blasted a great pitch over the left center field fence for a three-run homerun to put the ADM Tiger up 3-0 in the bottom of the first. Then two batters later senior Addison Banse blasted a pitch over the left center field fence for a solo homerun. In the bottom of the second inning freshman Lauren Hagedorn reached on a error by Carroll and then senior Brylee Person knocked freshman Lauren Hagedorn in on a line drive base hit RBI single to make the score 7-0 in favor of ADM. The ADM Tigers did tack on one more run in the bottom of the 4th inning senior Brylee person worked herself a walk when she was behind 0-2 count and reached base, then senior Addison Banse drove her in to make the score 8-0 in favor of the ADM Tigers. Then in the fifth inning junior Olivia Wyant reached base on a walk and then junior Makayla Crannell reached base on a single, then senior Ella Grossman came up to the plate and knocked in Olivia Wyant and MaKayla Crannell and to help secure the 10-0 win for the ADM Tigers, due to the ten run rule after five innings of play. ADM Tiger starting pitcher freshman Lauren Hagedorn pitched all five innings giving up no runs on two hits, one walk and with eight strikeouts on the night.
This win for the ADM Tiger girls will put them at overall record of 2-1 on the season.
