Dallas Center-Grimes Mustang baseball defeated the Boone Toreadors 9-7 after a late comeback Friday.
The Toreadors took a 7-2 lead after two big innings including five runs in the top of the 2nd inning and a two run inning in the top of 4th inning, but the Mustangs managed to pull a big comeback with two runs in the bottom of the 5th and four runs in the 6th inning.
Dayne Mauk went 3-for-3 at the plate for the Mustangs with two runs batted in. Taitn Gray was the starting pitcher and he went three innings surrendering five runs with four strikeouts. Preston Palm came in relief and was eventually the winning pitcher only giving up one earned run. Logan Young would come in in the top of the seventh inning and collect the save with three strikeout.
The Mustangs improve to (3-2) record and their next game will be at Harlan Community on Monday, May 22nd.
