The City of Perry has begun their efforts to control a species of nagging insects.
City crews will spray for mosquitoes every Thursday evening through the end of summer, weather permitting.
In case of rain on Thursdays, the spraying will be done Friday or Saturday evening instead. Residents are also reminded to check for standing water around their property because mosquitoes lay their eggs in standing water.
People are encouraged to contact the City of Perry at 515-465-2675 if they notice an area that consistently collects water and the street department will treat the water with a chemical that will prevent mosquito larvae from maturing.
