Dallas Center-Grimes Taitn Gray hits a walk off three run home run in the bottom of the seventh to give them their first win of the season Monday night.
The Mustangs defeated the Ballard Bombers in stunning fashion with a 4 to 1 victory. Junior Keaton Fenn pitched a phenomenal game going 6 innings pitched with eight strikeouts and no earned runs. Senior Clayton Campidilli’s ground ball that ended being a field choice with an error on a double play scored Tate Perrin to go up one run in the sixth. Then junior Ty Mikkelsen came in and pitched the last inning in relief and gave up a run in the top of the seventh. Finally, the Mustangs got down to their final out in the bottom of the seventh and Taitn Gray hit a bomb to deep center which ended up being a three run home run to win the game. Gray caught up with Raccoon Valley Radio after the game to share his thoughts on the home run.
“I just knew that I had to go up there confident and I knew that I just wanted to do the job for the team and I did. So I’m thankful that we ended up on top there.”
Mikkelsen gets the Win in relief and the Mustangs improve to (1-0) and will play Urbandale on the road for a doubleheader starting at 5pm today.
