Greene County High School junior Nathan Behne ended his season on Monday by shooting 21 over par for 18 holes at Orange City in a Class 3A boys’ golf District Tournament. Behne is still recovering from knee surgery late last year following an injury playing basketball with the Rams. He was given the OK to play golf about midway through this season and advanced from the Carroll Sectional to the Orange City District.
Ram coach Kyle Kinne said the Landsmeer Golf Club course is challenging with a lot of bunkers and fescue. “Nathan missed an eagle putt, but got birdie on hole one, then hit a lot of hazards from there on. We’re proud of him! He isn’t up to full power from surgery yet and these 18 holes are tough for him.” Behne was the lone Greene County golfer to advance to the District Tournament.
