There’s a fun event coming up with lots of people involved.

The Guthrie Center American Legion Auxiliary Unit us hosting its first Red, White and Blue Cruise on May 20th. Auxiliary members Robyn Van Zee and Carrie Diderriksen say they have taken part in the Eastern Iowa Honor Flight, an event where people ride their utility terrain vehicles (UTV) and visit different sights and eateries. They had so much fun that they decided to recreate the event here.

Riders for the Red, White and Blue Cruise will start in Guthrie Center at the Guthrie County Fairgrounds, and can drive their four wheelers, UTV’s, and Jeeps to a few different stops including the Guthrie County Freedom Rock, Pioneer’s Pub and Grub and the Casey Creamery in Casey, Short’s Place in Menlo, the original Freedom Rock on Highway 25, and then everything will end at the Blue Goose in Adair. Each of the restaurants will serve some food, and Pioneer’s will give one free drink to each veteran.

There will also be raffles and a silent auction. Van Zee tells Raccoon Valley Radio that there are already 105 pre-registered, and they’re expecting more. Interested individuals can also register the day of the event for $25, though they will only be able to accept cash or check payments. Additional information can be found in this story online.
