A pair of ribbon cuttings happened on Friday in Jefferson.
The Ambassadors with Jefferson Matters were on hand to officially welcome two new businesses on East Lincoln Way.
The first ribbon cutting was for Good Stuff by Bill and Pauline. The business had a few different locations and the owners, Bill and Pauline Allen, decided to consolidate it to one location in Jefferson. Bill talks about what their primary goal is with Good Stuff.
“Basically what we do is we go out and try to find good, older furniture; and collectables, decor-stuff. We try to find that at a reasonable price so we can sell it at a reasonable price in here. We have a good collection dressers that are all wood, there are no partial board, they’re in good shape, and they’re a lot cheaper than the new stuff that you get right now. We have a lot of glassware, floral, decor items, (and) old books.”
The second ribbon cutting was for the RC Shack, located next door to Good Stuff. The remote-control vehicle business is owned by Darrin Charlson. The company started in Churdan six years ago and Charlson talked about why he relocated the business to Jefferson.
“Well I moved back to Jefferson and I didn’t like the drive (back to Churdan), plus (there’s) more people, more traffic down here, a lot better location.”
The RC Shack has remote-controlled cars, trucks, boats, mini-helicopters, drones, airplanes and Hot Wheels. He also offers replacement parts and will do repairs. Both businesses are located at 702 East Lincoln Way.
