The Stuart City Council will meet in regular session tonight.
The Council will consider for approval liquor licenses for Doe A Deer and Ruby’s Pub and Grill, a resolution pertaining to an amendment for the City’s budget for the current fiscal year and a contract to start addition in Phase Four of the Wambold Housing Project. They will also consider for approval pay estimate number one to Hydro Klean for the amount of $84,607.50 for their work on the 2023 Sewer Manhole Rehabilitation Project, a resolution setting a public hearing on proposals for the city to enter general obligation loan agreements and contribution to Midwest Partnership.
The Council will then consider a Travel Iowa Tourism Event and swim passes for fire department volunteers, before holding a public hearing pertaining to rezoning the Tibben property from agricultural to residential, then consider for approval a resolution setting a date for a public hearing pertaining to expansion of the Stuart Urban Renewal Area. They will then hear from Stuart Economic Development Director Matt Funk on a TIF application by The Stuart Scoop Owner Sadie Kleppe, and a TIF proposal by Main Street Marketing Owner Nate Westre.
The Council will discuss a downtown speakers policy and quarterly joint meetings with the Utility Board of Trustees, both presented by Councilmember Kristina Renslow, and then consider for approval a nuisance violation and code enforcement abatement if estimated cost of the violation is under $500, and city employee wages for 2023-24.
