Perry Lutheran Home is looking for volunteers to help them deliver baskets of love to older adults this week.
Project Deliver the Love will take place this Thursday at their Eden Acres Campus in Perry. Director of Marketing Mollie Clark says that they will need roughly 150 volunteers for this event to pack baskets full of fun items like fresh fruit, puzzles and devotionals to deliver to older adults in the northern Dallas County community. Clark explains this program was started to service older adults that are in need of love and encouragement.
“They might have just recently lost a spouse. They might not have had kids, so they’re kind of alone, and don’t have anybody to visit them. And we really want to let people know that this isn’t a program for the needy, but it’s really a way to get our community connected with and to form meaningful relationships with older adults, because all of us need more joy and sunshine and love in our lives.”
Clark says their goal is to package and deliver 450 baskets and those interested in signing up to be a volunteer there will be a link to click here.
