Severe weather came through Greene County Sunday afternoon.

The National Weather Service issued a severe thunderstorm warning for western Greene County at 1:30pm and that prompted the Raccoon Valley Radio Severe Weather Action Team on KGRA 98.9FM. Before the warning expired at 2:15pm, the National Weather Service issued a second severe thunderstorm warning at 2:03pm and went until 2:30pm for northeastern Greene County.

Greene County Sheriff Jack Williams confirmed there was pea-sized hail in Paton, along with light rainfall and some cloud-to-ground lightning. There were no reports of property damage from the storms.

Four Raccoon Valley Radio staff, along with Sheriff Williams, Weatherology and Greene County Dispatch were involved in the Severe Weather Action Team Coverage. The National Weather Service reports Greene, Dallas and Guthrie counties remain under an enhanced risk for severe weather the rest of today with all modes of severe weather possible.
