There are a couple of items for Greene County 4-H’ers to be aware of.

Greene County Extension 4-H and Youth Coordinator Samantha Hardaway says the sheep and goat weigh-in will take place on Saturday from 7:30-11am in the sheep barn on the Greene County Fairgrounds. Clover Kids do not have to attend this weigh-in to show at the Greene County Fair.

Hardaway reminds 4-H’ers that are showing their dog that classes have been underway since the beginning of April, from 6-8pm on Mondays in the cattle barn on the fairgrounds.

“So this is a great opportunity for youth participating in 4-H to learn basic obedience (skills). They are required to attend five (classes) but we are offering 13 sessions, so hopefully you’re able to make it to at least five of these. Clover Kids are required to attend at least one.”

Hardaway adds horse sessions will be on Thursdays from 5:30-7:30pm starting May 18th in the horse arena on the fairgrounds. Hardaway says 4-H’ers are required to attend at least three sessions if they are riding and one session if they are doing halter shows at the county fair.
