The highest academic achievers in the two school districts in Greene County were recently recognized.

Greene County High School Senior Jesse Miller and Paton-Churdan Senior Autumn Consier earned the Governor Scholar Award. These students were recognized as the highest academic achievers for their first seven semesters in high school. Miller and Consier were among the 422 seniors and of the largest 64 school districts in the state, they were allowed to select two seniors who were the highest academic achievers in the first seven semesters.

A ceremony took place this past weekend at the Iowa Events Center in Des Moines. The program started in 2003 and is sponsored by the Governor’s Office, Iowa High School Athletic Association and Iowa Farm Bureau.
