A couple of public libraries in Dallas County will celebrate an informal commemorative day for the movie and media franchise, “Star Wars.”

The Perry Public Library will have a “May the 4th be with you Kid’s Party,” from 4 to 6pm on Thursday in the library community room. Youth Services Librarian Laura Pieper says she will be reading her favorite Star Wars books and then there will be different activity stations for kids. Pieper talks more about those certain stations.

“We’ll have stations, including fun activities like making pool noodle lightsabers and baby Yoda origami. We’ll have games like pin the bun on Princess Leia, blowing up or knocking over the Death Star and even using the force.”

Additionally at the Perry Public Library, there will be an all day Star Wars themed scavenger hunt for teenagers. Also, the Adel Public Library will have a special “May the Fourth Story Time,” on Thursday from 4 to 4:30pm. The event will include a story time from a former librarian along with games and crafts. Both library events will be free and open to the public, with no registration needed.
