A traveling program will be visiting each of the six Greene County libraries to kick-off May.

The Science, Technology, Engineering, Arts and Math (STEAM) Petting Zoo offers hands-on activities for elementary-age kids and their families. There will be two opportunities for Greene County residents to enjoy free entertainment at the six different county libraries. Rippey Library Director Cara McCoy explains how they got the idea to bring this kind of a program to the county.

“Several of us librarians went to a STEM training in Ames and this is offered as a thing through the Iowa PBS STEM. And so I figured let’s get on it and see if we can get this for our libraries.”   

The over two-week program is sponsored by the Greene County Libraries Association, the Greene County Board of Supervisors and Iowa PBS STEAM. You can see the full schedule of where the traveling exhibit will be at each library below.

May 2nd and 3rd @ William Paton Library

May 4th and 5th @ Jefferson Library

May 6th and 8th @ Grand Junction Library

May 9th and 10th @ Churdab Library

May 11th and 12th @ Rippey Library

May 13th and 15th @ Marchant Memorial Library in Scranton
