The Celebrate Adel event took place on Thursday and announced the Adel Business and Citizen of the Year award winners. 

The Celebrate Adel event took place at the Country Lane Lodge on Thursday to recognize the citizen and business of the year recipients. The nominees for citizen of the year included Rich Hughes, Dixie Rhiner and Jan Tetrick.  The business of the year nominees included Harvey’s Greenhouse, Iowa Spring and Russell Abstract and Title. 

The Adel Citizen of the Year award recipient was announced as Rich Hughes and the Adel Business of the Year award recipient went to Iowa Spring. 

Additionally, the city of Adel was awarded as the 2022 community of the year from the Iowa Rural Water Association. This award is presented to Adel for their ability to address aging infrastructure that meets the needs and demands of the anticipated population growth.
