The Guthrie County Arts Council recently announced the first recipients of a new scholarship.

The Jennifer Hewitt Scholarship was awarded to four students, three of which attend the three school districts in Guthrie County. Haley Cose from Adair – Casey / Guthrie Center, Brooklynn Epley from Panorama and Tommy Teague from West Central Valley were all named as recipients of the scholarship. Additionally, Abigail Hofbauer from Coon Rapids-Bayard was the fourth recipient. Each of the scholarships were for $250.

The scholarship fund was established by the Guthrie County Arts Council in memory of Hewitt, who supported their vision and mission, working as a member artist, volunteer and president, along with helping coordinate events, teach and mentor the arts. Donations can be accepted for the scholarship fund, and may be mailed to Art on State Street using the address below.
