Next week the Guthrie County Iowa State University Extension and Outreach will host a family night event in Panora.
Extension Youth Coordinator Laura Larson says that Panorama Schools asked if the Extension would be willing to help with their literacy night. She adds that the Extension loves to teach literacy and Science, Technology, Engineering and Math (STEM) topics. Larson tells Raccoon Valley Radio about this year’s program.
“This year’s theme is dinosaurs. So we’re going to be doing some fun literacy activities with dino excavation, and we’ll be focusing on the story ‘Dinosaur Lady,’ the true story about the first paleontologist, Mary Anning.”
Larson mentions that the literacy night will take place on May 3rd at the Panorama Elementary School from 4:30-6:30pm.
