The Iowa High School Athletic Association and Iowa Girls High School Athletic Union jointly released assignments for May 11 State Qualifying track and field meets. Greene County has been assigned to a Class 2A coed meet in Ida Grove hosted by OABCIG. The first and second place finishers in each event automatically qualify for the State Coed Meet in Des Moines at Drake Stadium, as well as the next eight best performances statewide to round out the field of 24.

Paton-Churdan is assigned to a 1A meet in Madrid. In 1A, only the first place finishers are automatic State qualifiers, plus the next 12 best performances statewide.

Greene County sends its boys’ track and field squad today to Jewell for the Roland-Story Norsemen Invitational. The track in Story City is being worked on, therefore the change in location.

The Rams send the boys’ golf team to Woodland Hills Golf Course for a meet hosted by Saydel (Des Moines).
