Unemployment rates in the Raccoon Valley Radio listening area stay fairly constant through March.

According to Iowa Workforce Development, both Greene and Dallas Counties saw no change in unemployment rates from February to March. Greene County had a 2-percent unemployment rate, while Dallas County remained at 2.2-percent. Guthrie County was the only one to see a change, with a 0.2-percent decrease from February’s rate of 3.7-percent to 3.5-percent in March.

These rates are similar to what all three counties saw in 2022. Dallas and Greene Counties had an unemployment rate of 2 percent, while Guthrie County had an unemployment rate of 3.2%. Statewide, the average unemployment rate in March was 3-percent, while the national average was 3.6-percent.
