The Guthrie County Supervisors met in regular session Tuesday.
The Board approved a payroll change notice for Ed Lowe, who was brought on as seasonal help for the Guthrie County Conservation Department, before hearing an update from County Engineer Josh Sebern. They then approved the contracts and performance bonds for two bridge projects, and in a split vote, the Board approved signing the agreement with Guthrie Center on repairs to Grand Street. Based on previous similar votes, Supervisors Mike Dickson and JD Kuster both voted no, because they believed the County was paying too much for repairs, as the County’s insurance said they weren’t responsible for the street.
The Board then discussed a committee for finalizing plans for the new jail and organizing an open house, and replaced a previous appointee to the County Planning and Zoning Commission, as the position needed a resident from a rural area instead of someone who lived in town. Tonya Ganzer replaced Jen Policky.
