The Adel-DeSoto-Minburn School District announces that DeSoto Intermediate students will return to class today, after a fire caused significant damage to their building.

On April 18th, The DeSoto Intermediate school building suffered water and smoke damages from an air conditioning unit that had an electrical shortage and caught the roof on fire. According to an email sent out by Superintendent Greg Dufoe, the school building passed all environmental tests and other operational requirements necessary for re-occupying students and staff for the remainder of the school year. Dufoe also stated that they are looking at how they will meet the state requirement of 1080 instruction hours for students.
