The ADM girls varsity track team traveled to Newton for a varsity invitational track meet Thursday April 20th. Here is how the ADM girls did did in the running events and they had several top ten finishes on the day. Junior MaKayla Crannell placed 1st and Sophomore Jada Grove place 2nd in the 100 meter dash. Sophomore Jada Grove and sophomore Josie Dufoe placed 2nd in the 200 meter dash. Junior Torianna Schmidt placed 5th and Junior Madison Siefkin placed 6th in the 400 meter dash. Sophomore Mackealin Sutton placed 3rd while teammate sophomore Mallory Davison placed 5th in the 800 meter run. Freshman Alaina Nelson placed 1st and freshman Haley James placed 3rd in the 1,500 meter run. Junior Paige Matttes placed 4th and sophomore Ella Coghlan placed 5th in the 3,000 meter run. Freshman Elise Coghlan placed 9th in the 100 meter hurdles and Elise also placed 3rd in 400 meter hurdles.

ADM girls did very well in the relay and medley runs with many teams finishing in the top ten. The team of Josie Dufoe, Jada Grove, Calli Seehase, and Peyton Standley placed 2nd in the 4×100 meter relay. The team of Aniston Tollari, Josie Dufoe, MaKayla Crannell, Jada Grove placed 1st in the 4×200 meter relay. The team of Hannah Desmarais, Aniston Tollari, Brecken Morse, MaKayla Crannell placed 1st in the 4×400 meter relay. The team Haley James, Madison James, Brecken Morse and Hannah Desmarais placed 3rd in the 4×800 meter relay. The team of Josi Dufoe, Calli Seehase, Torianna Schmidt and Brenna Seidl placed 1st in the 800 sprint medley. The team of Calli Seehase, Peyton Standley Brenna Seidl and Mackealin Sutton placed 2nd in the distance medley. The team of Lauren Case, Eliza Schmidt, Brianna Young and Elise Coghlan placed 4th in the 100 meter shuttle hurdles.

ADM girls some good competition in the fielding events on the day. The ADM girls had a some good top ten finishes. Sophomore London Warmuth placed 1st and teammate sophomore Madelyn Roundcount placed 3rd in the long jump. Junior MaKayla Crannell placed 2nd and sophomore Aniston Tollari placed 5th in the long jump. Sophomore Kennedy Stanford palced 4th and teammate senior Nicole Storck placed 6th in the shot put. Freshman Lauren Hagedorn placed 1st and senior Addison Banse placed 5th in the discus throw.

The ADM girls finished the day in first place, with 191 points while runner-up Pella ended the day with 136 points. The next ADM girls varsity track meet will be in Adel on Tuesday April 25th for a varsity invitational where there will be many teams on hand. That meet will get underway at 4:30 PM
