Adel Chamber of Commerce was met with a big crowd when they held a ribbon cutting ceremony for Iowa Spring’s new facility on Thursday.

Iowa Spring Manufacturing specializes in the manufacture and delivering of springs and they recently built a 50,000 foot building in Adel, that is outfitted with a number of computer numerical controlled machinery. CEO and President Tim Bianco said that their original building on Greene Street was congested and this new building will allow them to expand their production capacity and capabilities as well as improve the product efficiency. Bianco told Raccoon Valley Radio that it made sense to continue to grow in Adel.

“It’s a reinvestment in the community. It’s a reinvestment in the organization. We talk about our priorities at work a lot of times, and reinvestment in both the employee and the facility is really important to the success of our organization. And then doing it in a community like Adel was even that much more important to me. And this is my home.”

Bianco said he was overwhelmed by the support and number of people that showed up to the ceremony.

“My first thoughts were not expected. But then knowing the community, it’s heartfelt and welcoming. I mean, it’s really nice to have this crowd.”

Iowa Spring Manufacturing houses around 160 employees and produces a wide variety of springs that could be used for agriculture, construction machinery, overhead garage doors,  appliances, docklevers, railcars and specialty designed springs.
