Greene County’s boys’ soccer team defeated Winterset 6-1 in Grand Junction at Karber Field Tuesday night. Coach Carl Behne’s Class 2A eighth ranked team is now 6-0 and has out scored its opponents 39-3 to this point of the season. The Huskies fell to 0-6 and their lone goal came on a second half penalty kick and marked just the fourth time this season they found the net.

Senior Jose Velazco scored four goals including one on a penalty kick, and now he has 10 on the season. Gesser Gutierres picked up a goal, his 16th of the season, and Bork Ersness, a foreign exchange student from Norway, scored his third goal of 2023. Erness also had two assists with one assist apiece for Velazco, Gutierres, and Kolby Angell.

Coach Behne told Raccoon Valley Radio goalkeeper Gabe Ebersole and the back line of Kolby Angell, Fredy Aguillar, Brynley Ruzicka, Braeden Roberts, and Cody Mc Collom are meshing and played very well on Tuesday night.

The Rams play in Grand Junction on Thursday vs. Des Moines Christian and Friday in make up action on Friday vs. Panorama. The action vs. the Panthers is a girl/boy doubleheader.
