Dallas Center-Grimes girls golfer Laura Klaessy was the talk of the Beaver Creek Triangular Tournament in Grimes on Tuesday, after finishing at the top of the standings.
Klaessy placed first with a nine hole score of 49 that included two pars and one birdie. She finished three shots better than Emerson Lee from Pella, who placed in second with a score of 52. Dallas Center-Grimes played against two other conference opponents including Norwalk and Pella. As a team, they placed third and shot a score of 226, three strokes back of second place. Other notable highlights of the meet, sophomore Sydney Miller shot a 57 and senior Ellie Weddle finished with a 59.
The Mustang golf team is continuing to get better as they will tee it up again on Thursday at Otter Creek Golf Course in Ankeny.
