The Dallas County Board of Supervisors met on Tuesday.
The Board approved multiple items for the new Dallas County Administration Building including the signage announcement, abatement contract award to EcoMidwest for $49,000, five demolition qualified bidders and the project’s estimated cost of $25,061,494.
The Board then approved the auditors election for the Dallas Center-Grimes Schools. In the special election, the people voted Nancy Curtis to fill the vacancy as an at-large board director and nearly 70-percent voted no on the proposition A, a measure to make school board positions at-large seats.. Additionally, the Board approved to set May 2nd as a date they will hold a public hearing for the Waukee gas main, Waukee public facilities and use easement, construction on T avenue in Waukee and the cost advisory renewal.
Finally, after a discussion, the Board chose to approve the letter of support for the Minburn water system improvement project which will look to make drastic changes like increasing the water main size, increasing the size and pressure of the Xenia Water feeder line and installing a larger water tower.
