
The ADM Boys varsity track team hosted an Invitational track in Adel on Thursday April 13th. The ADM Boys had another successful day in the running and the fielding events. Here is how the ADM Boys did in the running events: Junior Aiden Flora got a first place finish in the 100 meter dash. Junior Carter Padget placed 1st in the 200 meter dash. Freshman Hudson Shull placed 4th while Sophomore Cameron Forgy placed 5th in the 400 meter dash. Sophomore Torin Timmerman placed 1st and Sophomore Brayden Rynearson placed 3rd in the 800 meter run. Sophomore Torin Timmerman placed 2nd while teammate Sophomore Shay Holdmeyer placed 3rd in the 1,600 meter run. Junior Hunter Landphair placed 2nd and Sophomore Isaac Chapman placed 3rd in the 3,200 meter run. Sophomore Jacob Kitzinger placed 2nd and Junior Cameron Nish placed 3rd in the 110 meter hurdles. Junior Zach Lohmann placed 1st and Sophomore Keaton Kier placed 2nd in the 400 meter hurdles.
The ADM Boys had some pretty good success in the relay and medley races on the day: The team of Aiden Flora, Zach Lohmann, Cade Morse, Jacob Kitzinger placed 1st in the 4×100 meter relay. The team of Aiden Flora, Zach Lohmann, Cade Morse, Jamaul-Richarson-Williams placed 1st in the 4×200 meter relay. The team of Zach Lohmann, Jacob Kitzinger, Luke Krantz, and Scout Smith got a first place finish in the 4×110 meter shuttle hurdle. The team of Shay Holdmeyer, Sam Peters, Pierson Lee, and Harrison Desmarais placed 2nd in the 4×800 meter relay. The team of Jon Hatchitt, Carter Padget, Grant Engleman, and Torin Timmerman placed 3rd in the distance medley.
The ADM boys had some good top ten finishes in the fielding events. Sophomore Will Grasty placed 3rd and Sophomore Kyler Chapman placed 4th in the high jump. Sophomore Grant Engleman placed 6th while Joseph Kitzinger placed 8th in the long jump. Senior Vince Benetti placed 1st while teammate Junior Drew Hickey placed 2nd in the shot put. Senior Vince Benetti placed 1st and Senior Ben Gaard placed 6th in the discus throw.
The ADM Boys did finish in first place team wise with 205 points while Ankeny Central came in with a second place finish with 110 points. The next ADM varsity boys track meet will be a coed invitational in Jefferson, where there will be several schools on hand. That meet will be on Monday April 17th and will get underway at 4:30 PM.
