The Guthrie Center City Council met in regular session on Monday.

The Council heard from Elden Wolfe and Public Works Superintendent Darin Sloss about a meeting they had with Alliant Energy recently. Alliant will no longer support the electric pedestals in Mitchell Park for holiday lighting displays and cut the power to said pedestals. The City will need to rewire and install overhead lighting at the city’s expense, and Wolfe is working on a quote for the work.

The Council also approved Sloss’s request that the three summer mowing students from last year be rehired at $13 an hour.
