The Dallas County Health Department is encouraging people to get outside and be active during the warm spring days in Iowa.
Health Navigation Coordinator Ann Cochran says that folks can utilize the number of trails in the central Iowa area to go for a walk or ride their bikes to get exercise. Cochran says exercising outside can also build positive self esteem.
“Unfortunately a lot of us have pretty non active lives and we need to make a point of raising our heart rate and strengthening our muscles. So outdoor exercise in spring is a little tricky with the weather always changing. So try to have both an outdoor and an indoor option to get some activity into your day.”
According to the National Weather Service, temperatures in central Iowa are supposed to reach near 80-degrees Thursday and Friday.
