A 10-0 Greene County High School boys’ soccer victory over Kuemper Catholic (Carroll) Tuesday night in Carroll sent the Rams to 1 5-0 record. It was the first match of the season that ended early by the 10-goal mercy rule. Head coach Carl Behne said the contest ended after just 7:39 of the second half was played. The Rams led 7-0 at halftime, then quickly scored three more times. Gesser Gutierres had four goals, putting him at 15 for the season. Jose Velazco added three goals and four assists and Kolby Angell began the scoring with a goal just 1:45 into the contest and he also had three assists on the night. The Class 2A eighth ranked Rams also had two goals from Jack Hansen and there was an assist from Bork Ersness. Goalkeeper Gabe Ebersole recorded three saves.
The shutout was the fourth of the season and the Rams have outscored their five opponents 33-2. The coach added the team has a few days to rest and heal up as well as work on a few things.
