The Stuart City Council met in regular session Monday night.
The Council approved a liquor license for The Stuart Scoop, set a public hearing for May 8th for the rezoning of a parcel of land from agricultural to residential. They also approved three items for phase three of the Wambold project, which were retainage of the barn on the property, use of the house for training by the fire department after testing for asbestos, and fencing around the property.
The Council also heard from Stuart Aquatic Center Manager Sara “Chelle” Young and approved increasing pay for lifeguards, concessions workers and management, along with increasing admission and pass prices. They also heard from Stuart Development Director Matt Funk on Tax Increment Financing (TIF) application process and the upcoming TIF project proposal, before Mayor Dick Cook talked about nuisance violation and code enforcement contract with the current code enforcement officer.
