daisy-award

A nomination deadline is fast approaching for an annual award with the Greene County Medical Center.

The DAISY Award is given to a nurse who exemplifies extraordinary patient care. This award was first created in 1999 by the family of J. Patrick Barnes who died from complications of an auto-immune disease. The family wanted to start an award that recognized the extraordinary patient care that was shown to Patrick.

Greene County Medical Center Patient Experience and DAISY Award Coordinator Kristi Wilson says they take DAISY nominations year-round and nominations can be from patients and their family members, along with physicians, clinical staff and other nurses. The deadline to submit a nomination is April 20th. The ceremony will take place at 2pm on May 10th in the main lobby of the medical center. Nomination forms can be found in the medical center or click here.
