Dallas Center-Grimes had a strong showing at the Norwalk COED Track Invitational Monday.

The girls Mustang track and field team placed first with a ton of podium placements. It started with Olivia Curtis taking first in the 400 meter dash and Tess Meggison grabbed the bronze in third. The 4×400 meter relay team did their job and took the gold with a time of 4 min and 15 seconds and then the 4×800 meter relay finished ahead of the rest with first place time of 9 min and 44 seconds. Addison Dooley placed first and Jordan Meyers placed second in the 3000 meter run. Also Maddy Stevens a second place finish in the 800 meter run. For the field events, Kileigh Lachaz took first in the discus throw and Zoey Valenta placed second.

The boys Mustang track and field team grabbed third at the Norwalk Invite. The top finishers included the distance medley team who placed first with a time of 3 min and 36 seconds, AJ Angus grabbed second in the 800 meter run and Eli Rupp got second in the discus throw. The next meet for the boys will be this afternoon in Urbandale and for the girls they will compete on Thursday at Waukee Northwest. Full results here: FILE-1445
