The Perry Police Department is investigating an incident involving alleged gunshots.

Sergeant Alex Lott tells Raccoon Valley Radio officers responded to a call about hearing several gunshots at 10:39pm Saturday at the corner of 18th and Iowa Streets. Sergeant Lott says when they arrived on scene, they found four 9mm handgun bullet casings near a dumpster that was facing north toward a cornfield. There was no one at the scene and there was no property damage. 

Sergeant Lott points out that they have no suspects and haven’t arrested anyone, but that there is no threat to the public and there’s been no reports of anyone with a gunshot wound. He believes whoever shot the gun was shooting into the cornfield at the T-intersection or at a glass bottle that was found shattered near the casings.
