The Guthrie County Board of Supervisors met in regular session Tuesday.

The Board approved a payroll change notice for a new nurse for the Public Health Department, and use of White Pole Road between Dexter and Stuart for the Bonnie and Clyde Fun Run hosted by the Stuart Revitalization Committee. In an update from Information Technology Director Brian Hoffman, the Board also approved a block hour purchase of 30 hours from Panora Fiber and a contract for anti-virus software with the Office of the Chief Information Officer.

In an update with Guthrie County Engineer Josh Sebern, the Board approved the annual publication of noxious weeds, which is a notice of state law, and discussed the progress of a grant for work on White Pole Road, and getting a tractor for use by the Secondary Roads Department for mowing roadsides. Sebern told the Board that usually the department leases a tractor each year, and returns it at the end of the mowing season, but he’s been having trouble finding tractors on time the last couple of years, and was wondering if renting or buying one would work better. After the discussion it was decided that Sebern would look into prices with local dealers.
