RC Shack

Another new business in Jefferson recently received a grant to help with startup costs.

The RC Shack is owned by Darrin Charlson, who is relocating his business from Churdan to Jefferson to expand his inventory. Charlson’s business includes remote controlled cars, boats, planes, choppers and rock crawlers. He also plans to have repair parts available and provide repair services for remote controlled vehicles. Additionally, Charlson will offer a small outdoor track for people to race their RC vehicles.

Charlson received $2,500 from the Jefferson Wants You Incentive Fund. These funds are distributed to new businesses to help off-set the startup costs and there is a remote worker fund available, where individuals can apply to receive a grant to do their remote work at Gravitate Coworking in Jefferson. Both of these grants are made possible through the Rural Return Grant from the state, along with additional funding from local utilities, financial institutions, and a Grow Greene County Gaming Corporation grant.

Charlson’s business is located at 702 East Lincoln Way in Jefferson.
