Last week a Stuart man was arrested on multiple charges.

Stuart Police arrested 36-year old David Reeves on March 26th on two counts of domestic abuse or assault – 3rd or subsequent offense, which is a class D felony, and four counts of harassment in the 1st degree, which is an aggravated misdemeanor. Reeves was arrested after the second instance of him harassing and threatening the victim on the 26th. According to the incident report, in the earlier instance, a witness made a 911 call after hearing Reeves make threats towards the victim, allegedly including the statement, “I’m going to stab you.” The witness told police he had made a call to police on February 26th, after allegedly hearing Reeves telling the victim that he’d cut her tongue out if she called police, and threw plates around the apartment.

The second instance occurred when the victim attempted to talk to Reeves, who lives next door to her, and he allegedly came to the door with a baseball bat, and told her she was going to die in her sleep for calling the cops earlier, saying “You wait, you see.” Reeves later allegedly came to her door and said he had a present for her, but the victim refused to open the door.

Reeves has been convicted for domestic abuse before, once in Bremer County in November of 2020, and in Adair County in May of 2021. Raccoon Valley Radio will bring you more information as it becomes official.
