The Greene County High School soccer teams are both on the road tonight, although at different locations. Coach Maribel Hernandez and the girls go to Van Meter while Coach Carl Behne’s boys travel to State Center to play West Marshall.

The Rams fell 3-2 in the girls’ season opener on Tuesday in Des Moines vs. Grand View Christian, but the two goals were 50% of the total goals the Rams scored last season. They had four goals during a 1-11 season in 2022. Greene County will face a powerful VM team tonight that is 1-0 after a 10-0 victory earlier this week against West Marshall.

The boys from Greene County are coming off a 6-0 shut out win over Boone in Grand Junction on Tuesday. Gesser Gutierres had five goals in the opener and the Rams hope to get in the win column against a WM team that is also 1-0 after a 7-0 victory vs. Creston.
