Unemployment rates saw a slight decline in February in the Raccoon Valley Radio area.

According to Iowa Workforce Development, Guthrie County had the largest decrease in the Raccoon Valley Radio area of 0.5 -percent from January to February to 3.7-percent unemployment. Greene County reported a 0.4-percent decrease in unemployment from January to February to 2-percent and Dallas County had a 0.2-percent decrease to 2.2-percent in February. 

All three counties were similar in unemployment rates at that point last year. Guthrie County had a 3.5-percent unemployment rate in February of 2022, compared to Greene County’s 2.2-percent and Dallas County’s 1.9-percent unemployment rate.

Statewide, Iowa Workforce Development reports that the unemployment rate sits at 2.9-percent. The national unemployment rate for this past February was 3.6-percent.
