Jefferson and surrounding residents are reminded to help city crews out at the two cemeteries next week.
Jefferson Public Works Director Dave Morlan tells Raccoon Valley Radio the clean-up week will be from April 3rd-7th at both the Jefferson Municipal Cemetery and St. Joseph Catholic Cemetery. He says any items that are not in a permanent vase near a gravestone will be removed by city crews after that week. He talks about why there is a dedicated week for people to pick up any items they don’t want discarded from either cemetery.
“Just to get it ready for the season. Memorial Day will be fast approaching and we always want it to look very nice for that week.”
Morlan appreciates everyone’s help in this effort.
