The Adel Parks and Recreation Department will host a festive egg hunt for people’s four legged friends.

They will have a “Dog Easter Egg Hunt,” at 1pm on Sunday at the Adel Dog Park. Recreation Supervisor Ramona Dillinger says that they will separate small and big dogs and then fill Easter eggs with gluten-free dog treats and hide them around the park for dogs to find. Dillinger tells Raccoon Valley Radio they had a great response last year, but there will be a small change.

“(Pet Owners will) notice this year. We’ve done some improvements out there at the (Adel) dog park. We have added a paved walkway from the parking lot there to help them access the dog park a lot easier. So people will notice that change this year and just encourage everybody to bring their four legged friends out and join us for a doggy Easter egg hunt.”

Dillinger says that pet owners will need to have their dog updates with the latest vaccinations to participate. The event is free and open to the public.
