Dallas Center-Grimes snags two wins in a boy/girl doubleheader Tuesday afternoon.

Starting with the Mustang girls soccer team defeating Johnston by a score of 2 to 1. The first goal of the season came from a corner kick from Kylie Knief at the 36 minute mark in the first half. And then Kylie Knief would connect on another goal from 20 yards out at the 56 second mark in the first half which would eventually seal the win for Dallas Center-Grimes.

Dallas Center-Grimes Boys Soccer Club got off to a hot start early in their matchup against Johnston with a goal by Zach Bruck but beautifully assisted by Ben Jackson to go up 1 to 0 at the 3:45 mark in period 1. DCG’s Eddie Payne would add to the damage with a goal in the 34:50 mark in the 2nd period but the Johnston Dragons weren’t done they would answer with two goals and tie the game at the 21 minute mark of period 2. Dallas Center-Grimes would grab their first win of the season from a Payne goal with 37 seconds to spare in the game. The final was 3 to 2.
