Individuals looking to complete their hunter education course can do so in Greene County.
Greene County Conservation Director Tanner Scheuermann says they are hosting a field day at Slinginger Woods on Saturday, April 1st from noon-4pm. Scheuermann tells Raccoon Valley Radio participants who need to do the field day, must first have their classroom portion completed and present their voucher for that classroom at the field day. He points out that during the field day, participants will have the opportunity to review the content from the online portion, practice safe firearm handling and go through live firing exercises. The end of field day includes participants passing a written exam.
According to the Iowa Department of Natural Resources, the hunter education course is required before an individual can obtain their hunting license.
