The month of March brings awareness to Nutrition.
Dallas County Health Navigation Coordinator Ann Cochran says that National Nutrition Month is an annual campaign to keep people informed about developing healthy eating habits while encouraging physical activity. Cochran explains that eating healthy directly impacts someone’s ability to lose weight and feel better about themselves. She tells Raccoon Valley Radio that making a change to eat a balance of nutritional food is a mentality.
“We have to decide we’re going to make a change in our eating habits and then give it our best try. If you’re concerned that eating fresh fruits and vegetables and lean meats is going to be too expensive, the health navigators at Dallas County Health can help you make a plan to cover the healthy diet expenses that you’re aiming for and still not feel like you’re getting pinched in other areas.”
Cochran reminds people during March Madness basketball to get plenty of exercise and not sit on the couch all day watching the games.
