Jude Podlesak

Art students at Greene County High School have been busy, recently.

Art teacher Sarah Stott says Jude Podlesak earned the Best of Show for his entry into the Heart of Iowa Activities Conference Arts Conference Show that was held earlier this month. According to Stott, Podlesak hand built a ceramic birdhouse sculpture that was selected for the highest art award from the conference out of hundreds of other artwork entries from the eight other conference schools.

Additionally, Stott’s painting class was commissioned to do two murals for the new Greene County Animal Shelter. The indoor mural was recently completed and depicts several cats and dogs that are in need of adoption. Stott adds the outdoor mural will be completed on the shelter later this spring.
